Estimating the true piezoelectric properties of BiFeO3 from measurements on BiFeO3-PVDF terpolymer composites

• BiFeO 3 particles were embedded in non-conducting non-piezoactive PVDF terpolymer. Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of -PVDF composite with different volume fraction studied. The charge voltage coefficients granular determined by using Yamada Poon model. is an interesting multiferroic material potential use sensors transducers. However, the high coercive field low dielectric strength this make poling process extremely difficult. Poling becomes a lot easier if ceramic are incorporated non-conductive polymer comparable properties. In work, unstructured composites consisting terpolymer matrix made ranging from 20% to 60%. highest constant values (d 33 = 31 pC/N g 47 mV m/N) obtained for model chosen analyse dependence while modified used data. It concluded that maximum possible bulk can be as 56 pC/N.
